something i need to remind myself..

we need to look beyond our activities to the reason we do them and the purpose they fulfill. Is your goal in life to search for meaning or to search for God who gives meaning..?    

it’s been pretty windy lately..

you know when you feel the wind as it passes, you know that we can’t ever catch or take hold of it.. or keep it. sometimes it’s like our accomplishments no matter how big or small, the good vibes and bright feelings only seem temporary..

“security and self-worth are not found in these accomplishments, but far beyond them in the love of God.” 

consider the things that are worthwhile in our lives.. where do we spend most of our time, money and energy? can we look back and figure out that the reason we’re living was to love the Lord.. or are we chasing after the wind? 

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” -Hebrews 12:1-2
